Hi,

I'm Ingunn. This blog is about learning to make photos instead of just taking them. This is where I collect and express ideas and thoughts, and sometimes I might get sidetracked, too! There is so much to be learned. I have an urge for making life better, simpler and tastier. My picture galleries are in the sections travel and portfolio. I write in English, but I am Norwegian, and comments are most welcome in both languages.

Project | Pond study, December

This winter has been very mild and with almost no snow and ice so far. We had a few centimeters of snow a few weeks ago, but this Christmas has been really windy and with temperatures above zero degrees. The result is rotten ice with melting water on top. The wet, icy surface on the pond is very reflective as a result.

My fascination for the grass islets is still strong, and I liked the islet with this tree on it, particularly with the ski tracks leading onto it. It looks like the tree has a route to escape the islet. I think, however, that the photo in itself isn't all that interesting. After the initial success it has proved to be very difficult to make fresh photograps of the pond, maybe because the subject isn't interesting enough? I'm not sure what to do to improve my pond study.

ISO 200, aperture f/5.6, shutter speed 1/400, focal length 200mm.
