I'm Ingunn. This blog is about learning to make photos instead of just taking them. This is where I collect and express ideas and thoughts, and sometimes I might get sidetracked, too! There is so much to be learned. I have an urge for making life better, simpler and tastier. My picture galleries are in the sections travel and portfolio. I write in English, but I am Norwegian, and comments are most welcome in both languages.

Good Friday

Eleven years ago, on Good Friday, my youngest daughter was born. She is one of the greatest gifts I've ever had, for sure! Today it is Good Friday too, and it is her birthday. One of the things she wished for her birthday was a chef's hat and an apron because she is an eager cupcake baker at the moment. Nice aprons and chef's hats are not very easy to get by around here, so I made her a set myself. It was great fun! I used a piece of sturdy denim-like fabric with blue chinese signs printed on that I bought at a thrift store a couple of years back, and for the hat I used some white cotton muslin I had in my stash. The result was a lot better than I had predicted, and I got to use something that otherwise would remain unused on my shelves. She was really pleased with it, too, and is as I write this making a new batch of cupcakes already, uhm!

Easter is for several reasons one of the best holidays of the year, in my opinion. I love the slow pace and the scent of Spring outside. I'm not really into lots of Easter decorations around the house. It is enough with a few branches decorated with painted eggs and a few fresh yellow flowers here and there. I've chosen tulips and lilies this year - maybe not very original, but I adore both.
